Adrian's Shave for Inclusive Sport

Disability Sports Australia
My name is Adrian Gilchrist. I was born on December 17, 1981 with a spinal cord condition known as Spina Bifida. This condition manifests itself differently in every instance, primarily dependent on the location of the malformation.
As a result of my disability, my father, David Gilchrist became a strong advocate for raising funds for all charitable causes, especially those that help to improve the lives of People with Disabilities. In October 2011, just 5 months after diagnosis, David Gilchrist passed away from metastatic melanoma.
Every year, on the anniversary of his passing, I attempt to raise money for charity by committing to shaving my head in exchange for a small donation to my nominated charity. From 2012-2014, all funds raised benefited Melanoma Institute of Australia. From 2015 onwards, following an 18 month involvement with Disability Sports Australia, I have nominated them to receive all future funds raised by my annual charity shave.
My aim each year is to match the initial amount raised during the inaugural shave of $1,500, however every dollar counts. Not only is your contribution tax deductible, but by donating through Give Matcher, you are able to nominate for amounts up to $30 per donation to be matched.
I'll be making a difference in supporting inclusive sport for all. Will you?
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who has made a success of this year's campaign. As of the close of the 2015 campaign, $545 has been raised for Disability Sports Australia
