LIVIN is a not-for-profit organisation that was established to combat the stigma attached to mental illness and raise awareness for suicide prevention. We use social media, fashion and high profile entities to target our core demographic to begin discussion, create greater understanding and a more positive interpretation of mental illness.
We want to connect with, support and inspire young people to talk about their feelings and issues. For too long mental illness and suicide has been perceived as weakness and we want to increase the capacity of the community to work together to combat these illnesses. We want young men and women to know that they are not alone and that ‘it ain’t weak to speak’. We believe that education about mental illness in young people is an integral step in changing societal perceptions of mental health.
“We can save the lives of individuals, if we change the way society understands, perceives and interprets mental illness.” Sam Webb
